A large red brick house built between 1882 and 1884 by James Degraff, one of the first bank presidents in North Tonawanda. The house itself is dark with mahogany woodwork, some stained glass windows, glittering chandeliers, and eleven foot high ceilings. After the Revolution, Col. Fisher here built a house which was later remodeled into the present DeGraff mansion, known as "Dadanoscara." The latter name is said to mean "trees bearing fungi" — mushroom growths.
